The island of Hvar took fifth place on the Travel + Leisure Magazine’s list of the most beautiful European islands in 2020
One of the most prestigious magazines in the world specialized in the travel industry – Travel + Leisure published the list of the best European islands for 2020.
Interestingly, this year Greek islands were very dominant on the list, as seven made the Top 20 list. Croatia also has many reasons to be proud of. This year Hvar and the Dalmatian islands took the fifth place.
“A 195-square-kilometer haven,” as the Greek island of Paros was called by readers of Travel + Leisure magazine, was named the most beautiful island in Europe this year. The combination of beautiful beaches, traditional architecture, picturesque villages, archeological sites, and rich nightlife led to this flattering title of Paros.
Paros took first place this year from another “Greek”, Milos, who finished second in 2020, while Sicily took third place. After the largest Italian island, the Azores, Hvar, and again – Greek Crete.
Seventh place was taken by the Italian island located across from Naples – Ischia. It is followed by Mallorca and Madeira, and the tenth place was again taken by the Greeks – Rhodes and Dodecanese.
