Apr 10, 2014 | Publicity

After being Shortlisted for the Design And Architecture Awards by Design et-al, Pin& Pin were interviewed to give voters an insight into what our company is about. Directors Adam & Alex Pinion discussed what inspires them and what their future goals are in Croatia.

Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)

As brothers, we benefitted from a good foundation in design and development having numerous family members in the building trade and an interior designer as a mother. This gave us an essential eye for detail which often leads us to analyze the design and finish of every building we enter. We Founded Pin & Pin in 2004 with a single aim: to create the most exceptional homes in Croatia.

How would you describe your personal interior design style?

It very much depends on what suits the particular location and environment but generally luxurious, elegant, and timeless.

Where does your design inspiration come from?

Everywhere.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?

People are becoming more knowledgeable and aware of quality and detail. This needs to be reflected in pushing the boundaries year upon year.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2014 and beyond

  • Functionality
  • Quality of finish
  • Timeless design
  • The balance of light
  • Elegance

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to interior design schemes, what would it be?

True quality and functionality can only be achieved when the planning is done to a microscopic level.

How important are The International Design and Architecture Awards as recognition of talent and achievement?

Very Important! It is great to receive acknowledgment for what we have achieved. The awards act as a platform for leading designers to showcase their work acting as a benchmark for years to come and allowing the design to constantly evolve.

What projects are you currently working on?

We are in the planning and development stage for a number of exciting projects around Dalmatia.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?

We want to continue to put Croatia on the map as a leading destination for luxury homes and be at the forefront developing its best properties.
